We shot an
11-Year-Old, Level II Vest
with four, 9 mm rounds, plus '00' Buckshot, all from 24" (61 cm).
The deepest penetration was 9 layers of Kevlar® not even halfway
through!
The 9 mm
bullets penetrated 5, 6, 8 and 9 layers out of 20 layers total!
Most of the '00' Buckshot is still on top of the vest!
Below is the last 9 mm resting in front of the 10th layer.

Would you like to test-shoot VERY old Police Surplus armor? If you'd like to test-shoot a 20+ year old vest to see just how good VERY old armor is, one panel is just $25. It has always stopped 9mm FMJ, and .357 Magnum JSP for us. Pre-1987 vests are on the old NIJ 0101.02 standard and so, for legal reasons, we don't sell these vests for life-saving protection. NIJ 0101.02 Standard NOT SOLD FOR THE PROTECTION OF LIFE OR PROPERTY. |
